Slabs
Red and exposed concrete, those are what fascinated me about the Sumner M. Redstone Building’s Butler Atrium ↗ since the beginning. Slabs is a colored pencil drawing of that space.
Slabs was completed in late 2019 as part of my exploration of photorealism. The reflections on the second-floor windows were the most challenging part of this piece. In the end, I was slightly disappointed by the pencils’ inability to render finer details.
